Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy announced a new strategy Tuesday to battle rising crime by prioritizing certain offenses with “aggressive prosecution”, but not until the new year.
Jake Cook, radio host for the Nation of Jake, doesn’t understand why this move isn’t being implemented immediately.
“Why wait 2 weeks on something like this?” he said on Tuesday’s show. “Why are you waiting like it’s some sort of New Year’s resolution? So for the next two weeks, you’re not going to prioritize the violent crimes? Why didn’t you start on September 1, 2022?”
