Hibbett, Inc., is a leading athletic-inspired fashion and footwear retailer operating more than 1,150 Hibbett Sports and City Gear specialty stores nationwide. Mr. Longo addressed the damage caused to the community by the “smash ‘n grab” retail thefts plaguing the city. City Gear stores, like many other retail outlets in the Memphis metro, have been hit by groups smashing into the building and stealing whatever they can take. This week, Memphis companies and businesses asked for state law makers to step in and pass legislation to toughen penalties.
