WEATHER ALERT | Best Ways To Prepare For Next Week’s Freezing Temperatures

Temperatures will be plummeting early next week as soon as Sunday night and worsening on Monday and Tuesday as Memphis is on high alert for freezing weather.

There is a high chance of snow falling on Monday morning, most likely impacting travel across the Mid-South. With the freezing temperature, the snow is not expected to melt away.

Temperatures for Monday will be in the 20s with lows expected to reach into almost single digits. Tuesday will be even colder with the high expected to stay in the mid-teens and the low hitting single digits.

There is a chance freezing temperatures will not leave until Thursday, so it is best to prepare your home for power outages and frozen pipes.

Ways to be ready include having a backup space heater, leave your water slowly dripping from all faucets, and investing in a generator for back-up power.

A trip to the grocery store also doesn’t hurt as Memphians are already emptying shelves to prepare for the worst.
