WATCH | State Of The State Interrupted By Small Group

Tennessee Gov Bill Lee gave his 6th State of The State address before the general assembly in Nashville. His plans for expanding school choice was interrupted multiple times by hecklers who tried to yell over him as he said parents in Tennessee know what best for their kids and should be able to choose what school is best for their kids, not the government. But some protesting school choice believe otherwise. “We’re creating a brighter future for every Tennessean. What we’ve built in Tennessee is special and it’s worth protecting,” said Lee.

Regarding crime and school safety, Lee said “That’s why over the last year we’ve worked together and made significant progress, building on our strong foundation of school safety, starting with a $140 million grant to place a trained, armed school resource officer in every Tennessee public school.”
