Former Star Wars star and MMA fighter Gina Carano is moving forward on a lawsuit against Disney and Lucasfilm for discrimination when she was let go in 2021.
X CEO Elon Musk is footing the lawsuit bill which stemmed from the vow he made to back people who have been discriminated against on the social media app.
This all stems to her posts a few years ago, when she seemingly implied similarities between being a modern-day Republican and a Jewish person during the days of the holocaust.
As a result, Lucasfilm let her go in her role in Disney’s The Mandalorian.
“The truth is I was being hunted down from everything I posted to every post I liked because I was not in line with the acceptable narrative of the time,” she said on her X post. “My words were consistently twisted to demonize & dehumanize me as an alt right wing extremist. It was a bullying smear campaign aimed at silencing, destroying & making an example out of me.”
