Tennessee’s largest school district, Memphis-Shelby County Schools, will have a new superintendent Friday.
A special meeting will be held half past noon on February 9, to decide between three finalists picked last December.
Dr. Cheryl Proctor, Deputy Superintendent for Portland Public Schools, Dr. Marie N. Feagins, Chief of High Schools and Leadership Development with Detroit Public Schools, and Yolanda Brown, Chief Academic Officer in Atlanta.
This all comes from the resignation of Joris Ray, the former superintendent, in August 2022.
Tutonial Williams took the position as interim superintendent until a new one could find candidates for the permanent position.
