Former Memphis Grizzlies forward Jarnell Stokes is in the headlines for reasons outside of the basketball court now with a new movie written by him set to begin production in Memphis in 2024.
Filming for “Break the Cycle” is set to begin in March and will star Hollywood star Cuba Gooding Jr. Not only did Stokes write the film, his first screenplay, but he is also co-producing.
Stokes played for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, before being drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2014. He was the 35th overall draft pick.
A Southwind High School graduate, Stokes took his talents to play for the University of Tennessee and eventually getting drafted to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2014, and brief stints with other NBA teams.
