Mississippi River cruise liner American Queen Voyages has announced the company is shutting down from financial instability.
This includes all future trips that have already been booked. Those booked travelers are able to apply for refunds on AQV’s website.
They put out a press release stating that the 2020 pandemic turned the tide for their cruise line and that it was just too much to bounce back from.
“Despite great efforts by our team, crew and partners, American Queen Voyages (AQV) unfortunately has been unable to rebound from the effects of the pandemic,” they said in their statement. “The overnight cruise industry was especially affected by changes in travel preferences and, as a result, AQV has become financially unsustainable.”
