Guns to Gardens is a unique event where people who are looking to get rid of their guns can turn them into something new like garden tools.
They will be working with the Metal Museum to convert the weapons over.
Held at 449 Patterson Street next to the University of Memphis, this event organized by Evergreen Presbyterian Church will run from noon until 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Those unable to participate but willing to contribute are encouraged to send monetary donations, supplies, their time by volunteering and sharing the event with others.
This is all in an effort to slow down the epidemic of gun violence in Memphis and finding ways to counter it instead.
