TRAVEL | Passenger Plane Landing From Memphis Slides Off Runway In Houston

A plane flying from Memphis International Airport slid from the runway Friday morning as it was landing at Bush International Airport in Houston, Texas.

The airport staff have confirmed that there were no injuries as a result and that everyone made it off the plane without any issues.

Passengers described that the plane had no problems on its descent until it touched ground and slid into grass.

A statement was released shortly after by United Airlines:

“Around 8 a.m. today, a United Airlines flight landed on a runway at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).  As it was exiting the runway for the gate, the aircraft left the pavement and entered the grass along Runway 9-27. Fortunately, no one on board was injured and all passengers were safely transported to the terminal. Per federal regulation, the FAA has been notified. Flights in and out of IAH continue without interruption.”
