The Memphis Zoo announced the passing of one of their giraffes through euthanization after falling in her exhibit.
“Angela Kate” was a female giraffe who fell on March 5th in her exhibit during the overnight hours.
The zoo stated there was no chance for a full recovery and that the most humane way to proceed was to peacefully euthanize her.
“The Memphis Zoo team mourns deeply for Angela Kate’s passing, cherishing the memory of her immense presence,” the zoo said in a Facebook post. “Her memory will forever live on in our hearts and within the legacy of Memphis Zoo.”
