LOCAL | MSCS Superintendent Begins First Day On The Job With Meet & Greet Tour

Dr. Marie Feagins is begins her first official day as Memphis-Shelby County Schools new superintendent after being selected a couple months ago.

She will be launching her first day in her position by attending several meet and greets across the school district.

Feagins will be making three stops April 1 at 8 a.m. at Melrose High School, 9:15 a.m. at Fox Meadows Elementary and 6 p.m. at Red Zone Ministries.

Students, their parents and others in the community are all open to join the scheduled events. Anyone that wants to register for it are able to choose which date they want on their website here.

She will be replacing Toni Williams, who served as interim superintendent for a year and a half.

Feagins previously served in the Detroit Public School system as Chief of Leadership and High Schools.
