Barbeque is a staple food of Memphis, Tennessee and there are moves by lawmakers in Tennessee to officially make it the state food.
The Tennessee House of Representatives passed House Bill 2864 on Thursday which states that barbecue, specifically Memphis-style barbecue, be the official food of Tennessee.
Surprisingly, other staple Tennessee foods did not make the final cut like Nashville Hot Chicken and Moon Pies.
Currently, the official state food is cole slaw, which was voted as such earlier this year.
