Walmart on Austin Peay Highway suffered $2 million in damage after a fire broke out inside the store.
This all occurred over the weekend as a fire was set intentionally in one of the aisles.
It didn’t spread throughout the entire store as the sprinklers contained it within the aisle.
Memphis Fire confirmed there were no injuries, and that the store would probably remain closed until the end of the week.
In totality, the store experienced significant water and smoke damage costing around $10,000 and $1.8 million worth of damage to merchandise.
