The NFL Draft finished on Saturday, and despite no Memphis Tigers getting picked, two former players are headed to the Denver Broncos after signing as undrafted free agents.
Running back Blake Watson and defensive lineman Jaylon Allen are joining the Broncos on guaranteed deals.
Watson is signing on a deal including a $250,000 guaranteed salary with signing bonus of $25,000. His time in Memphis after transferring from Old Dominion for his redshirt senior season was extremely successful.
He recorded 1,152 yards and 14 rushing touchdowns in 13 games as a Tiger, helping lead them to a 10-3 record and securing the Liberty Bowl game win against Iowa State.
Allen, a Tiger since 2019, is also now a Bronco on a guaranteed salary deal of $110,000 and a signing bonus of $10,000. In his five years with Memphis, he finished with a total of 150 tackles and making Second-Team All-AAC in 2023.
Not only were Watson and Allen signed with NFL teams, another undrafted Tiger, wide receiver Joseph Scates signed on with the Jacksonville Jaguars after two seasons with Memphis.
