During the I-55 Public Meeting Presentation for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), they released a video concept on their vision for a new bridge over the Mississippi River.
TDOT has been on the move trying to figure out a plan to replace the 75-year-old I-55 bridge, which opened up to public traffic in December 1949.
Their concept features a modern take with two triangle-shaped towers and a silver color design. With four lanes, this bridge would be a wider version of the currently standing bridge.
Their concept bridge spans roughly a mile and a half.
TDOT is looking for feedback from residents in the Mid-South following the release of the video proposal.
