The potential sale of Graceland has been put to a halt Wednesday morning by a Shelby County judge who issued an injunction.
The foreclosure auction was expected to be held on Thursday at the Shelby County Courthouse.
As for the reason for the sudden pause, the judge issued a delay to give enough time to provide a defense to the claims of fraud made by Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, Danielle Riley Keough.
She claimed that the Deed of Trust allegedly signed by Lisa Marie Presley six years ago stating that she borrowed over $3.5 million in a loan using Graceland as collateral, is false.
Elvis Presley Enterprises released a statement shortly after the ruling.
“As the court has now made clear, there was no validity to the claims,” they said. “There will be no foreclosure. Graceland will continue to operate as it has for the past 42 years, ensuring that Elvis fans from around the world can continue to have a best in class experience when visiting his iconic home.”
