The most recent recipient of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl’s Distinguished Citizen Award was NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback Joe Theismann.
He was given the award on Sunday, which is an award presented to those who have achieved greatness in their chosen field. For Theismann, he finished his 12-year NFL career with a Super Bowl ring, an MVP, and two trips to the Pro-Bowl.
Other notable names who have received the award were Danny Thomas, Peyton Manning, Paul “Bear” Bryant, and Lee Corso.
This was all awarded to him during a benefit dinner for St. Jude which also included a silent auction.
The award has been ongoing for 66 years.
