LOCAL | Midtown Diner Shut Down Temporarily After Kitchen Fire

In Midtown, Bob’s Barksdale restaurant on Cooper has been closed due to a cooking fire.

The popular diner’s stove area caught fire on Monday night at 8 p.m., several hours after it had closed. According to the owner, Beth Henry, a neighbor reported the smoke to the police.

Customers arrived at the breakfast and lunch establishment on Tuesday to see a sign on the front door informing them that Barksdale was temporarily closed because of the fire.

Henry stated that she has no idea how long her insurance business will be closed and that she won’t know the full scope of the damage until she speaks with them.

The dining area was left unharmed with no reported fire or water damage. There were also no injuries from the incident.
