Asserting that she merely wished to “ride and listen to music,” a woman carjacked an Uber driver, according to Memphis police.
The carjacking occurred on June 12, at roughly 4:30 a.m. At that point, an Uber driver picked up Faith-Ann Mittons, 27, from the Hotel Elite on Summer Avenue, the same hotel where a man was shot to death earlier this week.
Mittons allegedly said she only wanted to “ride and listen to music,” without having a destination in mind. However, according to authorities, she pushed the driver from the Ford Focus and drove off when the driver brought Mittons back to the hotel.
After several hours, at approximately 1:30 p.m., police say Mittons was stopped while operating the pilfered Ford Focus on I-40 close to Sycamore View.
The 27-year-old lady was taken into custody, accused of carjacking, and given a $75,000 bond.
This all comes after news a few days ago where a ridesharing driver was shot during an attempted carjacking at the Memphis airport.
