LOCAL | I-240 Shooters Set With $1 Million Bond

On Thursday, the accused suspects, ages 18 and 21, who are charged with causing serious injuries to four children and their father during an interstate shooting, made a brief court appearance.

There are numerous allegations against both co-defendant Lorenzo Watson and defendant Kendrick Ray, including six counts of attempted first-degree murder.

A $1 million bond was established for both Ray and Watson.

At the hearing on Thursday about the shooting on Tuesday on I-240, Ray entered a not-guilty plea, and his lawyer dismissed his request for a bond hearing.

This has all happened since Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy declared he would try to have Ray’s bond revoked.

Ray was released from custody after a prior arrest for reportedly possessing a $500 bond imposed by a judicial commissioner.
