The University of Memphis has announced their new Senior Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Ed Scott.
Scott spent the last two years as Virginia’s assistant athletic director before joining the Tigers. He was Morgan State’s athletic director prior to that.
The opening became available after the position was left by Laird Veatch, who moved on to become Missouri’s athletic director.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Scott and his family to Memphis,” UofM President Bill Hardgrave said in the official announcement statement. “Our goal in this extensive search was to find a forward-thinking, transformative leader with the vision to help us achieve the full potential of Tiger Athletics. While there were many exceptional candidates, we found that leader in Dr. Scott.”
