Hope was restored in the hearts of Grizzlies fans Tuesday night after a three-word social media post from star guard Ja Morant.
His “it’s go time” post implies he is fully cleared for all basketball activities ahead of the 2024-2025 season where Morant intends to lead Memphis back to a top seed in the Western conference and compete for the franchise’s first championship.
That same night, Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins confirmed the news during an NBA Summer League game broadcast.
Due to a suspension, Morant missed 25 games in 2023–2024. After that, he only appeared in nine games before being forced to miss the remainder of the season due to a ruptured labrum in his right shoulder.
After the injury, he spent over a month in a sling. In the lineup with Ja Morant, the Grizzlies went 6-3.
Morant averaged 25.1 points, 8.1 assists and 5.6 rebounds in 35.3 minutes per game in just the few games he was able to play in.
