Following Kyle Gass’s comments regarding the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, the comic rock combo Tenacious D, decided to cancel the remainder of their tour.
On Sunday, as Jack Black and Gass were performing live in Sydney, Austrailia, Black gave him a birthday cake and urged him to “make a wish.” “Don’t miss Trump next time,” Gass shot back, seemingly alluding to the rally shootings.
“After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold,” Black said in a social media post afterwards. “I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.”
Gass also took to social media addressing his public statements.
“I don’t condone violence in any kind, in any form, against anyone. What happened was a tragedy, and I’m incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgement,” Gass said.
