President Joe Biden tested positive for Covid-19 and is experiencing minor symptoms, the White House announced on Wednesday.
Biden’s diagnosis with COVID comes as the President confronts a widely believed belief among fellow Democrats that he lacks the strength for re-election.
He was set to speak at the UnidosUS conference but after the announement, Janet Murguía, the group’s president, announced the President would not be able to attend anymore.
Contrasting that with Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump, who just survived an assassination attack. This all while the Republican National Convention is taking place in Milwaukee where even left-leaning media conglomerates have acknowledged a possible landslide victory for Trump.
There are several on the Democratic Party who have been voicing their concerns with President Biden, and some, like Nancy Pelosi, who have been open about wanting him to step aside before November.
