Interstate 55 was the scene of an early morning shooting which claimed one man’s life and caused hours-long traffic jams, according to authorities.
I-55 closed in several places and reopened around 5:30 a.m.
Memphis Police (MPD) arrived at the scene on I-55 near East Brooks Road a little after midnight where they discovered a man who was dead.
Police have made it clear that the investigation is still ongoing.
