Shelby McEwen, a native of Abbeville, Mississippi, qualified for the Men’s High Jump final on Wednesday morning after tying for first place.
McEwen will compete on Saturday, August 10 at 12:00 CT in the Men’s High Jump Final.
Team USA’s McEwen, Japan’s Ryoichi Akamatsu, Korea’s Sanghyeok Woo, and Qatar’s Essa Mutaz Barshim all finished with scores of 2.27.
The 28-year-old hailed from Oxford High School and the University of Alabama. He competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, finishing 12th in the Men’s High Jump.
