LOCAL | Man Arrested After Threatening To Shoot Up Two

According to Memphis Police, a man threatened to shoot up two Shelby County schools on Thursday afternoon.

Reports indicated that Davis threatened to shoot Oakshire Elementary School and John P. Freeman Optional School.

Charles Davis, 21,has ben charged with two counts of threatening to commit mass violence on school premises, first-degree murder (in an unrelated homicide earlier in May), harassment/domestic violence, using a firearm while committing a hazardous offense, and evading arrest.

Authorities said that Davis was apprehended following a brief pursuit. Authorities said they found his luggage, containing a pistol, close by.

On Monday morning, Charles Davis is expected to appear in court.
