The Downtown Neighborhood Association announced that the Mud Island Amphitheater may soon host a multiple day performance concert series to stimulate the property ahead of potential redevelopment.
The estimated $750,000 to $850,000 in funds needed for new seating would be raised by the pop-up concerts featuring local performers.
Jerred Price of the DNA, said all the group needs is the city’s approval to begin operations. If approved, they are aiming for the concert to be in November.
The last time a concert was held at the Mud Island Amphitheater was in 2018.
This news comes after the August announcement that Carol Coletta stepped down as CEO of the Memphis River Parks Partnership.
