A gunshot in South Memphis on Sunday night resulted in a police pursuit and the death of a woman, a man is currently in custody.
Officers say they responded to a shooting incident at a shopping mall on 1387 Elvis Presley Boulevard a little after 10:50 p.m. A gunshot wound to the woman’s body was discovered.
The gunfire report, according to the police, sparked a police pursuit that came to a stop in the 3500 block of Millbranch Road. At that point, the driver was brought into custody.
After being admitted to the hospital in critical condition, the woman died.
