Regarding the judge’s choice to keep one of the former Memphis Police officers incarcerated until his sentence in the Tyre Nichols federal trial, the officer has filed an appeal.
Justin Smith and Tadarrius Bean were freed on bond on Monday. With the assistance of his lawyers, Demetrius Haley, who was denied bail due to his conviction for a higher number of offenses than the other ex-officers, is currently battling for his release.
Haley’s attorneys filed a motion on Thursday, claiming that he ought to be released on bond until his sentencing on January 22.
