Early on Tuesday morning, two Shelby County Sheriff motorcycle deputies were hurt in separate collisions on US-64 in Lakeland.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office reported that an automobile struck a deputy from the SCSO motorcycle unit around 6:50 a.m. on Highway 64 at Cobb Road.
On the way to the prior incident, a car struck another motorcycle unit officer at Highway 64, just east of Houston Levee. In non-critical condition, the first deputy was sent to Regional One Hospital.
The second deputy was transported away and is in critical condition, and on life support.
Highway 64 was closed in both directions from Cobb Road to Houston Levee this morning.
