The first game of the 2024-2025 season for the Memphis Grizzlies tips off tonight in Salt Lake City, Utah as star guard Ja Morant seeks to return with vengeance from a year many fans would like to forget about.
Memphis finished the 2023-2024 season with only 27 wins because of countless injuries, a rotation that always changed, and a 25-game suspension for Morant.
Injuries still linger for the Grizzlies, as the season opener versus the Jazz will be without the services of GG Jackson, Jaren Jackson Jr., Vince Williams, and Luke Kennard.
After their game in Utah, the Grizzlies will fly down to play the Houston Rockets on Friday, and fly back to Memphis for their first home game this Saturday to play the Orlando Magic.
In pre-season play, Memphis finished 2-3 but had several opportunities for to showcase new talent. Rookie center Zach Edey from Purdue University and fan favorite guard from Japan, Yuki Kawamura were among two who impressed coaches and fans.
Tip-off tonight is at 8 p.m.
