NATIONAL | President-Elect Trump Appoints Former Arkansas Gov. As Ambassador To Israel

On Tuesday, President-elect Donald Trump declared that he will designate former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee as his ambassador to Israel.

Huckabee is a strong supporter of Israel, and Trump has pledged to better align U.S. foreign policy with Israel’s interests.

Following the October 2023 terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of over 1,000 Israeli people, Israel has been at war with Hamas for more than a year.

The militant organization Hezbollah, which has a significant presence in Lebanon, and Israel have also had rising tension.

In Trump’s first term as President, he was responsible for organizing the Abraham Accords, the first Middle East peace agreement in over two decades.
