Last night, nearly 20,000 individuals lost power.
Since then, nearly all of the impacted residences got their electricity back as of Tuesday morning.
The University, Orange Mound, Midtown, and Berclair areas experienced the majority of the disruptions.
According to MLGW, the outage was caused by three substations’ multiple circuit breakers tripping.
Although he was unsure if the winds caused lines to touch, MLGW President Doug McGowen reported that wind gusts on Monday exceeded 30 mph.
