An employee of Popeyes in Midtown is charged with taking a customer’s credit card details and using it to make hundreds of dollars in internet purchases.
Police were informed by a customer of the Popeyes restaurant on Union Avenue that she had placed an online order a month prior. After that, the woman provided the worker her card details so she could make the payment.
The victim later discovered unauthorized charges made to her account which ended up totaling $424 in stolen money.
It was discovered that 26-year-old Jerrica Lee worked for Popeyes at the time the credit card data was stolen. Charged with Identity Theft and Theft of Property $1,000 or Less, she was arrested on Wednesday.
