A legislation designed to transfer control of Memphis-Shelby County Schools to the state of Tennessee will be submitted.
House Speaker Cameron Sexton confirmed on Monday morning that they will attempt to take over the largest school system in the state.
According to Sexton, the judgment renders the school board “null and void.”
This comes after the Memphis-Shelby County School Board voted on January 21, to terminate Superintendent Dr. Feagins’s employment with the district.
The temporary superintendent is Dr. Roderick Richmond.
