LOCAL | Man Charged In Connection With Dead Newborn Found In Dumpster

Following the story earlier this week of someone putting a newborn in a dumpster in Whitehaven, a man has now been arrested.

Officers reported responding to a call on Teakwood Lane at approximately 9 a.m. on Monday, where a woman had just delivered her baby on route to the hospital.

Police say the man accompanying her, who was later identified as James Booth, took the baby and placed it in a dumpster behind a Shell gas station.

After conducting a search of the area, officers found the deceased baby.

45-year-old James Booth is facing charges for Abuse of a Corpse. Tomorrow morning, he is scheduled to appear in court.
