According to police, an elderly man died on Monday night after colliding with two police vehicles involved in a traffic stop on Highway 385.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., while the Collierville Police Department was performing a traffic stop, a vehicle collided with two police units.
The driver was an 85-year-old man who did not have a seatbelt on. He was transported to Regional One Hospital, where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
It was reported that the individuals in the stopped car and the officers sustained no injuries from the collision.
The name of the deceased driver has not been released yet.
