TRAFFIC | Weather Related Ambulance Crash

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One firefighter-paramedic was injured after a crash on Interstate 240 Wednesday morning, the Memphis Fire Department confirmed.

MFD says the ambulance truck was involved in a single-vehicle accident on I-240 and Norris Road. One firefighter was treated for injuries on the scene.

They were then taken to the emergency room in non-critical condition.

WREG crews on the scene captured what appeared to be an ambulance fire truck that crashed into a pole on the interstate median.

Memphis Police say traffic lanes 1 and 3 are now shut down, but the middle lane is still open. They ask drivers to seek alternative routes at this time while they work to clear the accident.

This comes after an overnight snowstorm in the Mid-South, leaving 1-3 inches of snow. Several wrecks have been ongoing throughout the morning due to winter weather and road conditions.
