LOCAL | President Trump Appoints Memphis Woman As ‘Pardon Czar’

A Memphis woman, who received a pardon from President Trump during his first term, has been named the ‘pardon czar.’

Alice Marie Johnson gained national attention in 2018 when Trump commuted her life sentence for a drug conviction.

Johnson will serve as the nation’s inaugural ‘pardon czar.’  President Trump announced it at the White House on Thursday.
