Shelby County Commissioner Edmond Ford Jr. turned himself in to federal authorities. Charged with 1 count of bribery and 6 counts of failing to report income from 3 nonprofits. The federal indictment also describes an alleged scheme to receive kickbacks from un-named non profits. The FBI executed a search warrant in May of 2023 at a home belonging to the Ford family on Summer Shade Lane. According to reports, the home was used as an address for a computer company called E&J Computers which is Edmond and his brother James’ company according to state records.

Ford was released on a $25,000 unsecured bond and surrendered his passport as part of the release. No additional travel restrictions have been placed on Ford.

The Assistant District Attorney General for the 17th district said that the warrant in 2023 was in relation to an investigation relating to Junior Achievement in Memphis.
