One and done for the Memphis Tigers in the NCAA Tournament. Placed as a 5 seed, the Tigers faced the #12 seed Colorado State Rams and couldn’t put a stop to the three point shooting. Kyan Evans added to the 33 points from 3 with 6-9 while the Tigers big man, Dain Dainja put up another great game shooting 8-13, 6-10 from free throw line and 12 rebounds. Both team finished at 42% shooting efficiency. It was points off of turn overs that hurt Memphis. Co. State put up 14 points from the Tigers 16 turnovers. In almost every other stat, the Tigers won. 41 rebounds, 17 2nd chance points and 32 points in the paint. The turnovers, free throws and 3 point shots helped to end the season for the Tigers. Will eligible key players return next year? A question that may not be answered any time soon.
