LOCAL | Closures At 201 Poplar Since Monday Due To A/C Outage

Since Monday, 201 Poplar has been without air conditioning.

Several agencies located in the facility chose to close their doors rather than endure the heat, despite the fact that workers are working around the clock to get the air conditioning back on.

The General Sessions Court Clerk’s Office, the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office, and the Criminal Court Clerk’s Office were among the departments that have been shut down.

It was anticipated that temporary air conditioning systems will be operational by Wednesday.

However, due to the power outage and HVAC problems, the Criminal Division of the General Sessions Court Clerk’s Office said they will once again be closed Wednesday afternoon.
