After 6 years as the head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies, Taylor Jenkins stacked up 250 wins and 214 losses, has been fired. The 2024 season was a dismal one for sure. With a healthy Ja Morant , this season came with high hopes for a much better run. Up until February, the Grizzlies put 35 wins on the board and at their peak, sat in 2nd place in the West. Then after the all-star break, things fell apart with notably sitting at 9-13 in the last 45 days.
What’s next? Assistant coach Iisalo will run the show through the remainder of the season and playoffs. It’s speculation that’s why the front office fired Jenkins now, to give them a solid look at coach Iisalo’s abilities before the season ends.
