LOCAL | MPD Searching For Man Responsible For Abusing Puppy In Viral Video

Memphis Police (MPD) have issued a warrant for a man who they claim repeatedly assaulted a dog in the backseat of a car outside a convenience store.

Following a combined investigation with Memphis Animal Services and the police department that focused on unsettling video, 34-year-old Justin Johnson was charged with aggravated animal cruelty.

Thousands of people have seen the horrible video. The man can be seen repeatedly striking the dog.

At this point, Brixleigh , the puppy, is now safe and receiving treatment, according to Memphis police.
