LOCAL | Five Separate Shootings In Seven Hours Leaves Five People Dead

Over the course of seven hours last night, Memphis Police responded to at least five shootings that resulted in the deaths of at least five people.

Starting Tuesday afternoon outside a Frayser McDonald’s, a man was shot and killed.

Two hours later, police were called to a shooting and attempted carjacking at the Frayser Village Shopping Center that left one apartment complex security guard in critical condition.

Officers were then called to a residence on Cleoford Avenue an hour after that, in connection with a fatal shooting of two more people. 

Another shooting was reported on South Wellington Street in South Memphis a little after midnight. At the scene, another man was declared deceased.

Officers responded to another shooting in Whitehaven ten minutes after that case.

The Whitehaven shooting happened at a gas station near East Shelby Drive. One man was found dead at the scene. 

In the majority of these shootings, no suspect information has been made public.
