LOCAL | Teenager Now Facing Adult Charges After Deadly 2024 Collision That Killed Three Women

In relation to a police pursuit that resulted in a fatal collision in August 2024, a 16-year-old is now facing adult charges.

After running a red light during a high-speed police pursuit, Erien Watkins caused a five-car collision that claimed the lives of three women and injuring seven others, including himself.

Watkins was charged at the time with nine counts of aggravated assault, three counts of vehicular homicide, aggravated robbery, sexual battery, reckless driving, felony evasion of arrest, possession of a restricted weapon, and other traffic infractions.

Watkins was accused with being one of nine individuals who robbed and carjacked a man, fleeing with his Chrysler.

Watkins allegedly turned off the lights and drove more than 100 miles per hour before colliding with the victims when police noticed the stolen vehicle.
