NATION | AT&T Announces $5 Credit Back To Customers Impacted By Nationwide Outages

AT&T Customers affected by the network outages last week can expect to receive $5 credit to compensate for the potential damages.

Several thousands were impacted across the country and CEO John Stankey clarified the specific amount of credit that will be given back essentially covers for the cost of one full day of service.

“To help make it right, we’re reaching out to potentially impacted customers and we’re proactively applying a credit* to their accounts,” AT&T explained on their website. “We want to reassure our customers of our commitment to reliably connect them – anytime and anywhere. We’re crediting them for the average cost of a full day of service.”

Further down in the page, they answer several questions customers may have had like what caused the outage in the first place.

“Our initial review of the cause of Thursday’s outage indicates it was due to the application and execution of an incorrect process used while working to expand our network, not a cyber attack,” the website explained.
