LOCAL | Two Men Charged With Stealing MLGW Utilities In Home Squatting Case

Several thousands of dollars worth in utilities were stolen from MLGW in a case of squatting of a house at Windsor Parkways, perpetuated by two men.

The two suspects, Jordan Hanson and Johnathan Montgomery, had been living there without the property owner’s permission since January. One of them claimed they had paid $400 to stay there, a claim that has been refuted by the owner himself.

The owner has not been able to take control of the situation or get them out given that he is an older male confined to a wheelchair.

Court documents also show that since their squatting, no MLGW services had been active at the property for nearly two years. Hanson admitted to stealing utilities straight from a MLGW utility line and illegally hooking up power to the house.

Both men are facing counts of theft, vandalism, violation of the chop shop law, and interfering with a utility line.
